06 Mar World Book Day 2017
On Thursday the 2nd of March, Sir Thomas Abney celebrated the life and works of William Shakespeare as our theme for World Book Day.
The children from foundation stage to Year 6 have been studying a Shakespeare play this term for “Power of Reading” and we were lucky to be visited by the “Bard” himself thanks to the Museum of London.
There were performances throughout the morning with the children helping the World’s most famous playwright, find his muse and get rid of the dreaded writers block.
The museum of London were overwhelmed by the children’s subject knowledge of Shakespeare and hugely impressed by their behaviour and participation.
We look forward to a performance of “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” for EYFS and KS1 this week followed by a trip to the Globe Theatre for all of KS2.
